"Tips for a successful HCG Diet"



Little tid-bits to help make the HCG phase a little easier on the HCG Diet

The juice of one fresh lemon per day is allowed for all purposes each day on the HCG Diet 

Salt, pepper, vinegar, and most fresh or dried herbs may be used to season. 

Read all labels carefully for carbohydrates and sugar content. NO oil, butter or dressing is to be used during this phase of the HCG Diet 

Tea (black, green or herbal), regular or decaffeinated coffee, water & mineral water are the only drinks allowed.

Stevia may be used to sweeten your beverages.† Sweet Leaf makes many flavors of liquid stevia.

Our favorites are lemon drop, valencia orange, root beer and grape. They are great in sparkling water if you need something refreshing with flavor. 

Drink at least half your body weight in ounces per day of pure water. 

The fruit choices may be eaten between meals instead of with lunch or dinner as outlined unless directed otherwise by Dr. Madda or Dr. Phillipo (fruit eaten alone may cause a plateau in some people on the HCG Diet.) 

No oil-based cosmetics or creams may be used as the skin has the ability to absorb the oils and utilize them.  Lipstick, eyeliner, mascara and powder are okay on this phase of the HCG Diet. 

Weigh yourself DAILY upon rising after first morning void every day of the HCG Diet

 Be sure you have an accurate digital food scale to weigh your meats before you cook them. 

Take a cleansing bath as many evenings as you can.  Use 2 cups epsom salts and 1 cup baking soda and relax in water as hot as you can take for 15-20 minutes. 


In the first week of this program some participants report a “cleansing reaction” of feeling tired & sluggish.† You are doing a very deep cleanse as your body is mobilizing a lot of stored fat.  Fat tends to hold onto many toxins and emotions in the body and it is not unusual for things to come up as the fat begins to burn.  The way to your new body is through these uncomfortable moments if they should arise 


  1. Eat only one vegetable per meal on the 2nd phase of the HCG Diet.  While many people lose weight with no problem when mixing vegetables from the list, some will have a tendency to plateau or have weight loss slow down.
  2. Please avoid diet soda at this time on the HCG Diet.  Only tea & coffee with no added sugar, water and mineral water flavored with stevia may be consumed.  You can use the juice of one lemon per day.
  3. Weight of meat is based on PRECOOKED weight.  Please choose organic, lean cuts of meat or fish.
  4. Do not skip meals even if you are not hungry on phase 2 of the HCG Diet.
  5. American beef can be a reason that weight loss slows down.
  6. Vary your food selections on phase 2 of the HCG Diet.  It is best not to eat the same protein for lunch and dinner.
  7. Drink enough WATER! At least half your body weight in ounces per day.
