The Importance of Grass Fed Beef

Grass Fed Beef is the Healthiest Choice for Beef on the HCG Diet and in Everyday Life
Food is just not the same as it was 100 years ago. The processing that goes into many of our food sources seriously changes its nutritional value. I have found that many of our patients do best on a paleo type of diet. When it comes to animal products and meats I strongly feel that grass fed animals are the safest and purest meat available. It is important to look up the food chain at the diet the animals we consume may be eating and to be aware as to how their diet actually changes the nutritional content of their meat, milk, etc. We like to educate our HCG Diet patients about the quality of meats and help them to make the healthiest choices possible in their diet on the program and in every day life.
What do Conventionally Raised Cows eat? Seriously ... it is BAD!
Conventionally raised cows eat a diet that is rich in GMO corn and soy. In many conventional farming practices, they fatten up their feed with additional sugar from GMO sugar beets & cottonseed as well as added proteins, CLA from GMO rapeseed or canola oil as well as omega 3 fatty acids. They have to add these extra nutrients in as the cows are not getting them naturally from the grasses. Cotton is generally treated as a textile and not a "food" crop and therefore has less restriction around the pesticides that can be used. In other words, conventional farmers feed their animals a lot of GMO toxic material. These foods are mainly laboratory produced with no long term studies. Short term animal studies using these foods have produced poor quality of life.
The Facts of GMO Foods and Livestock
More than49% of all GMO corn is given to our livestock and only 2% of the GMO soybeans grown become human food -- 98% of it goes to animal. I find this pretty horrifying. I would not want to be eating the meat from these animals especially when you realize all of the pesticides and posions and genetic modifications that are in these crops. These farming practices are also harming our environment.
Grass Fed Beef ... The way to go!
Grass Fed Beef has a perfect ratio of omega 3 to omega 6. Conventional beef has a higher omega 6 to omega 3 content which is known to be a ratio of imfammation. Grass Fed Beef has higher levels of Vitamin A, Vitamin K2, Vitamin E and trace minerals than conventional beef and is herbicide, pesticide, antibiotic and GMO free.
I'll take the grass fed please.
