THE HCG DIET IS LOW IN CALORIES BUT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE LOW IN TASTE

Dr. Robert Madda is the medical director of the Natural Path HCG Weight lossclinic in Portland, Oregon.  He has had tremendous success in guiding patients through the HCG Diet!  The second phase of the HCG diet is very low on calories but does not have to be low on taste. Having a variety of foods to eat is helpful to staying on plan. The diet, found in Dr. Simeons' Pounds and Inches, is as follows:

AN HCG DIET P2 BREAKFAST

Tea or coffee with no sugar added. Stevia can be used as a sweetner. One tablespoon of fat free organic milk can be added but that is all the milk for the day

AN HCG DIET P2 LUNCH

1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh whitefish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meatmust be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilledwithout additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chickenbreast must be removed from the bird.

2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens,green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, redradishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

3. An apple or a handful of strawberries or one-halfgrapefruit.

AN HCG DIET P2 DINNER

The same four choices as lunch. The leanest ground beef that can be found should be used. Sometimes 97% fat free is available, but 93% works well, too. A delicious chili can be made using 100 grams of the beef with some canned, chopped tomatoes with chili powder, paprika, cumin, onion and garlic.

In the Natural Path HCG Program, we recommend avoiding the breadsticks that Dr. Simeons recommends.   Dieters have had success without it.  Also, if taking certain medications, grapefruit may need to be avoided. It has been shown to interfere with medication levels in the body.

Only one type of vegetable and one fruit at each meal is allowed. Though not in Dr. Simeon's original manuscript, the tomato can be substituted for the fruit in some meals. This can make a nice salad with some greens or spinach. Apple cider vinegar can be used for dressing. We love the HCG cookbook by Tammy Skye!  Great ideas to keep your taste buds happy.   Sweet Leaf Stevia makes a wonderful assortment of flavored liquid Stevia's to make your sparkling water full of wonderful & refreshing flavor.

Be creative!
