The HCG Diet and Vegetarian Cuisine
The HCG Diet was not created with vegetarian protein options in mind. Over the years, we have come up with a few options that seem to work without causing long plateau’s on the program. I also welcome my vegetarians to try certain higher protein options that have not been clinically tested over time and to see how they work with their bodies. Somethings work well for some and not for others. We medically supervise our HCG Diet Program and are sure to be there for our patients every step of the way.
Approved Vegetarian Protein Options for the HCG DIET
We coach our vegetarian HCG Diet patients to consume broccoli and other vegetables that are higher in protein. We like to be sure that our patients are not at all protein deficient through out the program. Here are a list of commonly chosen and clinically tested vegetarian protein forms. Many of these are morningstar products which are not my favorite simply because they contain genetically modified soy protein. Protein powders that are HCG Diet friendly are another great option for the program.
HCG Diet Friendly Protein Powders as a great Vegetarian Option for Protein
High quality protein powders that are minimally processed and contain less than 2 g of sugar and 4 g of carb are welcome on the HCG Diet as a protein option. These are actually really tasted when blended into a smoothie using some ice and frozen strawberries. It can be an excellent way to start the day.
