HCG DIET APPROVED SOAPS & BODY CARE PRODUCTS
For some embarking on the HCG Diet, it is hard to give up those favorite lotions and potions that are part of our beautification ritual. The truth is, while fat is burned the skin actually is pretty nourished. On phase II of the HCG Diet, it is best to avoid fats on the skin that can be absorbed. It is preferential for the body to use your own fat stores for fuel in this process.
Almost all nourishing soaps are made from a fat base such as shea butter, cocoa butter, olive oil or coconut oil. Many HCG Diet resources claim that those soaps made by Zest & Ivory can be used. In my opinion, the ingredients in these soaps seem toxic and I would not recommend that any of my patients on the HCG Diet use them. If you need a lotion for your face to remove makeup & help with dryness, the Dr. Simeon HCG diet protocol suggests you use any Jason Natural Care facial product such as Jason natural satin soap. There are many oil free soaps and lotions available by Jason that our patients really love. Alba is another company that makes oil free moisturizers and lotions for the body.

You can also go for mineral oil based body care products as mineral oil particles are too big to be absorbed by the skin. Many of our patients claim that they enjoy Cetaphil on the HCG Diet for extremely dry skin. Cetaphil is a mineral oil based product.

As far as shampoo and conditioner, we generally tell our patients to lather the shampoo quickly through the hair and then rinse. Follow the same protocol for conditioner. Jason, Aubrey organics and Natures Gate products are all very nice for use with the HCG Diet. As far as cosmetics go on the HCG Diet, it is recommended to avoid any liquid foundations and switch to mineral based make up.
