Eating to Help Hypoglycemia

Hypoglycemia -- Symptoms can go away with a certain eating protocol
Many of our patients suffer from Hypoglcemia. This could be due to poor diet, low thyroid, insulin resistance, etc. If you have true hypoglycemia you know that anxiety can kick in when blood sugar gets too low. This is because when blood sugar goes low it triggers the "fight or flight" response from the adrenal glands. The phase III HCG Diet is a great way to eat to help with hypoglycemic states.
Here are a few basic things you can do to help to combat hypoglycemia
When you wake up, be sure to have a high qulaity protein breakfast. with healthy fats and low carbohydrates. The name of the game will be to keep your blood sugar stable throughout the day. This is best done by eating good quality protein every couple of hours. Going long periods without eating when you have blood sugar regulation issues is one of the worst things you can do. You can choose high quality nuts, seeds, meats, eggs or low carb protein shake.
In general, it is best to keep carbohydrates low. You will notice that if you load up on carbs you will feel more tired and sluggish than normal. Keep grains, corn, legumes, starchy vegetables such as potatoes, peas & squash to a minimum. It is also important to avoid all sweetneners except for stevia.
Carbohydrates are comfort food and can seem hard to avoid. After 3-5 days of keeping them out of your diet, cravings will dissipate. After a couple months of eating low carb, high quality proteins and fats you will find your dysglcemia is significantly improved.
Other Things to Help those with Hypoglycemia
Stay clear of sugary foods in general but if you have some on occasion be sure you do not eat them before bed. I also recommend to avoid fruit juice as well as carrot juice due to the high sugar content. Avoid all adrenal stimulants other than green tea.
