Blueberry, Banana & Ginger "Ice Cream" - A Post HCG Diet Treat

February 20, 2013

This is pretty divine. My patients who are in the post phase of the HCG Weight Loss Diet love this recipe. I have made this dessert atleast five times this week.  My 3 year old son Milo asks after dinner nearly every night if we can make "the healthy ice cream."  It has quickly become a family favorite. I play around with healthy recipes to share with my patients once they have completed the HCG weight loss diet.  I try to help them find alternatives to foods that simply are really not that great for you ... such as ice cream.† This particular recipe is raw, vegan, soy and gluten free.  There are five simple ingredients that when mixed together in the blender (I would use a powerful one like the VitaMix) create a bowl full of joy for your senses.  SO far all of my post HCG weight loss Diet patients have loved this one too.

Ingredients in this post HCG Weight Loss Diet Treat

  • 2 frozen bananas (I cut them into small chunks before freezing)
  • 1 overflowing cup of frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup cashews (I like to soak mine for a few hours before hand)
  • 2 tsp. fresh squeezed lemon juice (love the meyer lemons)
  • 2-4 tbsp. almond or hemp milk

Directions for this amazing Post HCG Weight Loss Diet Recipe "the rest of your life phase"

Blend all of these ingredients together at high speed. You will notice that the only thing you cannot have on phase III of the HCG Weight Loss Diet is Banana. You can try leaving the banana out for more of an icey mix. Add the 2 tbsp. almond milk first and then add in everything else. Use the damper tool of your blender to try and get things moving. It takes a while to get frozen banana's to become creamy but keep working at it. Do not add to much liquid or it will become too thin. Be patient as you whip up this recipe. It is so worth it.
