I had a pretty bad one the other day. It was a Cake Batter Kula (like a frappuccino) at Seattle's Best. I looked it up and it was around 1,100 calories. I felt gross after a few sips. Thanks for this post... I like seeing this stuff!

Thank you for sending this, Justin

A few years ago I spoke with a doctor here (a D.C., who, at the time, anyway, had a practice both in Salt Lake and in France) regarding the possibility of using Prolotherapy for a arthritis and bone deterioration, although now I'm interested in it for another condition I've been carrying for about ten years called nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, which in my case, was caused by gadolinium poisoning from the contrast agent commonly still used (as far as I know) in MRIs.

As you undoubtedly know, gadolinium is a highly toxic, heavy metal which is used in MRIs because it gives the technicians a nice view of pretty much the entire circulatory system on the machine's monitor(s) after being introduced intravenously. I'm not sure why they don't use a less toxic, safer metal?

In any case, it's bound or chelated to another agent that holds it in a sort of 'suspension' until it's eliminated in a person with normal renal function with the urine in about two to three hours. After it had been in use for a number of years, it was determined that in people who, like me, had experienced a significant degree of kidney failure, whether or not they were on dialysis (as I was at then), the metal is not excreted through the urine in a timely manner, sometimes not for up to 36 hours, during which it separates from the agent it's chelated to and then lodges in the connective, fibroid tissue (and tendons) shocking them into contractures that never relax.

In any case, I want to try Prolotherapy later this year to see if it can help the condition. I thought about it for my left hip...but the ball of my femur looked like the knuckles on a clenched fist and so, as you can imagine, it was well into the bone on bone stage. I had a hip replacement at the end of January, which went very well, but I'm still not certain that I necessarily chose the correct therapy(?). However, it's done now, of course. I will seriously consider, though, Prolotherapy as an alternative to the possible forthcoming need for two knee replacements. Ah yes, the aging process as experienced by a more or less typical western male.

wow, these are great stories. I know Brandon, worked with him a very short time :) and know he is an exceptionally skilled therapist. Being in the healing and spa industry many years, I see patients with chronic problems all the time, yet see very few therapists with this level of expertise, and the compassion to communicate clearly.

Well done.
