My connection with Nature began in my youth and eventually pervaded every area of my life. I was raised in a small San Gabriel Mountain town in California, called Wrightwood, where I spent most of my childhood days playing in the forests, exploring creeks and investigating Nature. I remember working in the garden with my parents and them teaching me about food and nutrition as a child- how important it was to take care of our bodies with the foods that we eat. I lived a well rounded childhood- one that cultivated for me a very real appreciation for nature as well as a deep love for the Earth and others.

I always knew that I wanted to be of service to others and I saw medicine as a direct way to fulfill that goal of mine. Out of high school I went to the University of Washington with the aim of becoming a pediatric neurosurgeon.  While in school I worked as an assistant in the University Medical Center, with a doctor specializing in the treatment of chronic disease.  During that time I became completely disillusioned by conventional medicine’s reliance upon surgery and drugs as the two primary interventions in treating chronic disease.  I realized that being healthy today is the best way to prevent illness tomorrow.  Wanting to learn about true healing, nutrition, the mind-body connection as well as natural and healthy ways of living, I decided to redirect my path towards something more rewarding.

I went on to study Sustainable Agriculture at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington where I learned about growing healthy, vital food on a large scale as an Organic Farmer. Working on the farms, tending to my own garden and focusing on healing myself naturally, I came to realize that diseases always have a “root cause” somewhere within the body.  Like the weeds in the fields- if you don’t pull the disease out by the roots and “treat the root cause” of a disease, it will resurface again and again.

With this knowledge I knew that it was my calling to be of service to others in living more fulfilling and vibrant lives. After completing the pre-requisite medical courses as a post-graduate, I began my studies at the most prestigious Naturopathic Medical School in the country- National College of Natural Medicine, based in Portland, Oregon.

I am gifted with my hands and believe in the power of healing touch. During the summers I studied massage at the Oregon School of Massage.  As a licensed massage therapist I have worked for years specifically with athletes to rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries.  For two years I worked as the director of a rehabilitation department where I treated patients that had sustained traumas from automobile crashes, work related accidents, sports injuries, etc.  Having dedicated a tremendous amount of time working alongside Chiropractors, Osteopaths and Naturopathic Doctors, I am highly skilled in spinal adjustments.  As an intern I was most impressed by and interested in taking adjustments to the next level with the much more gentle and effective Naturopathic adjustments I learned to perfect.  I began my Prolotherapy training in 2005, after experiencing its miraculous healing effects on an old knee injury.

After receiving my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine, I established The Natural Path – a primary care practice where I integrate modern science and nature into one healing system using Naturopathic principles.  I focus on helping my patients reach their health goals quickly.  I specialize in Prolotherapy- the non surgical treatment of injured ligaments and tendons, as well as Naturopathic Spinal Adjustments.  I also focus on weight loss- guiding patients through their own rapid Weight Loss Program safely and effectively.

I work with each patient to help them reach their long term health goals, while addressing their most pressing “here and now” issues.  I am dedicated to working with you individually to address your specific needs.  One of my goals as a physician is to create a partnership with each one of my patients- to help give each patient the tools they need to successfully navigate their own Natural Path to Vitality.  Each of my patients will tell you that I am more than just a doctor- I am also a real person on my own natural path towards vitality and optimal health.  When you visit me in my office you will be welcomed to laugh, cry and share your challenges, knowing you are in a safe and caring environment.  I will always support you and encourage you to do your best, be your best and feel your best!
